One Rep, One Step at a Time
Today in my quiet time I was praying...some thanks, some repentance--mostly direction. There's been several things that I've been asking the Lord to show me where I should go. What I should do. A book that I am reading for class describes following the Holy Spirit similar to a miner's lamp. The lamp doesn't light up the whole mine, but it does show enough to take one... maybe two steps.
That's when the phrase "Take it one rep at a time" hit me. Chipper WOD's...75 Push Presses for time... Sometimes that's the best advice. Don't think about the laundry list of things to do. Instead, focus on just one rep... then the next rep. Before you know it, you've knocked out half of the WOD. When you finish, you can look back and say, "Hey, I did that! I made it!"
We will always be on a journey. The final destination...the "hey, I did it!"... isn't until we are finally with the Lord. However, there are little milestones in life and when you hit those milestones, you can look back and see what you've accomplished and how you got there.
Until then, take it
